July 2nd, 5:30 – 9-00 PM!
paintingBehold the beauty of our VERY OWN rocket launches in Brevard County through the lens and eye of Lloyd Behrendt at Highway Grrls First Friday Art Walk July 2nd. Not many people in this world launch rockets. Lloyd covers several decades of launches so pulls from a large and history rich portfolio! Lloyd will share his process of oil enhancement so be prepared to ask questions about technique and space history! What better way to enjoy and honor the July Fourth weekend than by viewing the amazing passion of artist Lloyd Behrendt utilizing rocket launches as his inspiration. Come and enjoy Lloyd at our wonderful EGAD Art Walk FRIDAY JULY 2nd at Highway Grrls Gallery from 5:30 to 9:00 PM.

Highway Grrls will be all decked out with red, white and blue. The Mark Baker Band will be out in front rocking Highland Avenue down and refreshing champagne punch awaits inside with Lloyd's most amazing work. Lloyd's rockets blend nicely with my planetary paintings which comes from growing up here and lots of family involvement in the space program. The space program makes me very proud to be an AMERICAN & I hope this show will demonstrate how amazing our “rocket life” in Brevard County is! Go SPACE COAST!

Tom Powers
serves many critical roles in the Eau Gallie Arts District. He is the current president of EGAD and head of the Brevard Art Museum. Ever the over achiever, Tom has built a beautiful studio in EGAD over on the corner of Pineapple at 1512 Guava Street. It is appropriately called Guava Art House.

Tom is also a visual artist who for many years painted using oils. Headaches led Tom to acrylics that he now uses in his current work. Many of Tom’s paintings have a sense of “aloneness“ or starkness to them which is similar to the feeling one gets when viewing Edward Hopper’s work.

COME AND ENJOY TOM AND HIS WORK THIS FIRST FRIDAY MARCH 5th from 5:30-9:00 PM.
The Mark Baker Band will be rocking the house down out front and tasty treats await you inside!

rick piperFebruary 5th EGAD First Friday, 5:30 - 9:00PM
EGAD, the Eau Gallie Arts District will host another spectacular First Friday Art Walk on February 5th from 5:30 – 9:00PM. At Highway Grrls Gallery the Mark Baker Band will be rocking Highland Avenue down. Inside you will find plenty of tasty treats & the wonderful paintings of Susan Caumont.

Highway Grrls Gallery will be showcasing the oil paintings of Susan Caumont. Her beautiful work invests realism with the psychological weight of abstract expressionism. The highly detailed workmanship of some of the paintings not only displays her virtuosity with oils but is also used to convey subtle ideas. The object is no longer just itself as it becomes hieroglyphic.

Ms. Caumont is a graduate from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in painting. Most recently she worked with scientists at the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum for 15 years as a natural science illustrator. Susan’s work can be seen at http://www.raadgallery.com/SusanCaumont.html
