December 5th First Friday Art Walk at Highway Grrls Gallery in the beautiful Eau Gallie Arts DistrictCome enjoy the festivities at Highway Grrls Gallery on December 5th from 5PM to 9PM as Robin shows and offers for sale her recent creations while demonstrating at the Artworks Art Show the weekend before Thanksgiving in the beautiful Eau Gallie Arts District. Robin has several new paintings including a BEAUTIFUL woven piece of painted paper on canvas utilizing her trademark golds, blues and greens. Additionally several wooden boxes and planks are newly painted and ready to give as unique gifts. You can buy one to stand alone or several to use in a grouping. Additionally, Robin now has a large circular piece of acrylic hanging in the window of Highway Grrls and with it back lit it looks exceptionally pretty at night!

Come by and enjoy Highway Grrls and Highland Avenue all decked out for the holidays and celebrate the season with art! Robin is working on at least one “Christmas themed” piece and has fellow artists including Maximilian Rener doing the same. Galleries and shops will be open up and down Highland Avenue with the Brevard Art Museum offering Jazz Friday featuring the Ron Pirtle Quintet. Highway Grrls will have the Mark Baker Band performing out front so yet again there is something for everyone in the beautiful Eau Gallie Arts District! So come on out and party with art!

November 7 First Friday Art Walk in beautiful EGAD (Eau Gallie Arts District) 5:30 – 9:00 PMAt Highway Grrls Gallery and Studio Robin Rothrock has returned from a busy month of travel including NYC and Berlin. Robin will be sharing new work as she continues to incorporate portraiture work from her early painting years into her current “process work”. Live music will be provided out in front of Highway Grrls by the ever popular Mark Baker Band.

SOMETHING NEW! Jamaican born artist Camille Paterson will be showing a recent series of portraitures she has completed of Barack Obama! A series of at least five different portraits will be on display so come and view Camille’s unique look at American politics at this point in history.

Come out and party up and down the street as Highland Avenue in the Eau Gallie Arts District comes to life with music, refreshments, art and FUN! Remember the Brevard Art Museum has Jazz Friday starting at 5:30 with several new shows on display so there truly is something for everyone! Come on out and ENJOY the changing season! September 5 — Maximilian Rener will be the featured artist at Highway Grrls Gallery for First Friday on September 5, 2008 He has recently returned from his home in Milan, Italy, after spending five months studying art and enjoying his family. Max has been a .Jack of all trades,. helping merchants up and down Highland Avenue with a variety of jobs. He seems to be a master about just about everything, from electrical to computers. He has been trained in architecture, and prefers realism when it comes to painting. He also plays classical guitar, flute, and even bagpipes! He will playing classical guitar on the patio surrounded by his painting for First Friday. He is also an excellent cook and will offer one of his favorite dishes for tasting.

August 1, 5:30 to 9:00 PMRobin Rothrock will continue to explore the incredible properties of painting on Plexiglas. A new installation of floor lamps up to six feet tall is in the works. And YOU MUST check out the new hanging lamps Robin has crafted utilizing Eau Gallie Woodworking “Wood Chuck” to build beautiful wooden frames for four Plexiglas panels. When the painted Plexiglas is backlit it is spectacular. Check out the photo here to see the effect. Come experience the installation in person for a real WOW factor. Out in front of Highway Grrls Gallery, the Mark Baker Band will be performing relaxed island rock and at least 12 establishments will be open up and down Highland Avenue offering art and light refreshments on this First Friday Art Walk. So come out and enjoy the beautiful Eau Gallie Arts District this August 1st from 5:30 to 9:00 PM!

July 4 SPECIAL AFTERNOON HOURS! Come celebrate First Friday Freedom Fest along quant Highland Avenue from 1:00 PM until early evening! Merchants will be offering light refreshments and July Fourth specials. Robin will be showing new red, white and blue work as well as recently created, beautiful hanging lamps. There will be a drawing for a huge gift basket from the Eau Gallie merchants. Sign a greeting card (donated by Brevard artists) to send to our troops. The Mark Baker Band is back by popular demand with special guest Mark Heckendorf on harmonica. Come by and rock on down!

June 6 Robin returns from her Grand Canyon and Sedona with a red and orange hangover. Photos Robin took are serving as the catalyst for a new series of work that will debut on this First Friday. Come enjoy Robin’s new foray into a changed palette along with refreshments, music and FUN! Mark Baker will return with his wonderful band!

May 2 — Humberto Rebollo will exhibit his works as a solo show while Robin explores the American West in search of new inspirations.

April 4th — Humberto Rebollo will be hosting First Friday for Robin. Come see Humberto’s evolving style of “pop art” and abstract women. His work is colorful and demonstrates his graphic design training. Robin will be at the Grand Canyon getting her artistic juices reinvigorated with her sister who launch shuttles for a living.

March 4th — Come enjoy the “handmade books” of German artist and historian Friederun Friederichs. Friederun recently had a show at the Brevard Art Museum and taught a bookmaking class at the Museum School which Robin attended. The book Robin made in this class will be available for viewing as well. Go to www.ReadingWoman.org to see an ongoing online project created by Friederun. Additionally, the very popular singer and guitarist Mark Baker will return with his “Jimmy Buffet” style band and play throughout the night. Come a be a part of a cultural happening in beautiful Old Downtown Eau Gallie!
